#TPTWP Show Notes- 15.1

House Mormont is an old house of The North, though not an ancient house like The Starks. However, as of the events of ASoIaF, The Mormonts are one of the principal families that are sworn to House Stark. Perhaps even more so with events that have transpired during ASoIaF if we base our assumptions on the yet-to-be-published-yet-already-adapted-material that takes place during HBO's Game of Thrones.

Wood and Fish and Bears, Oh My (15.1)

Bear Island is special and it stands out from the rest of Westeros because it is the most boring place to live in The Seven Kingdoms. Just ask the previous two Lords of Bear Island... if you can find them! They both abandoned their seat for certain death. John and SeannieWan open a series on a character that may just be their favorite non-POV character- Ser Jorah Mormont, the exiled Lord of Bear Island. If anybody has been put through the ringer more times than Tyrion Lannister, it is his good buddy, Ser Jorah... Captain Friendzone!

Chit-Chat-Mania, Brother! (Sp27)

The Lords of Chit-Chat talk Hulk Hogan, Tony Schiavone, Conrad Thompson, and professional wrestling as they continue their world championship run of analyzing HBO's #GoT news during this current extended period of time when there really is no #GoT news to analyze; and, as it pertains to the normal content of #TPTWP Podcast, plain ol' irregular conversation.

Disney Star Wars Means to Murder (Sp26)

'Twas the Apocalyptic Beast of Orlando- the avatar of the Dark Lord of Hollywood Yesteryear, a rodent disguised as an American Icon- that was woken by the impatient and impossible expectations of American moviegoers that were 'failed' by the 'Prequel Trilogy.' And yay did the Rodent Beast of Excess grow in power as the disappointment in the Prequels strengthened the misunderstood nostalgia the idiots of the world believed they felt for the 'Original Trilogy.' When the monsters created by 'The Matrix' and 'Shrek' had run George Lucas out of Hollywood, the slithering serpent hybrid of Mouse and American Greed rose from the rotted underbelly of corporate America and did then swallow up the souls of George Lucas and those that truly loved his story.

The Night Has Been Fairly Dark, Thanks For Asking (Sp25)

The Princes That Were Promised chime in with their Royal-A** opinions of the Game of Thrones prequel shows that are seemingly all in production! What happened?!? It has a bit to do with HBO's new owners...

Living and Dying in Westeros Lite (Sp24)

This episode will be the record as it has been recorded and likely released before any legit spoilers for The Final Episodes have reached the Interweb. Ergo, vis a vis, this episode will be fun to return to towards the end of 2019 when The Final Episodes have finished airing. Will John and SeannieWan be correct when all is said and done? Obviously.

A Catelyn of Swords (14.3)

Be it in bad taste to say that Catelyn Stark's narrative in #ASoIaF comes to a screeching halt? Mayhaps you feel it is if you are a big fan of Lady Catelyn. However, if you are a big fan of Lady Catelyn, this is likely not a podcast you will enjoy listening to. That said, has anyone really gone on record saying that Catelyn Stark is their favorite character from A Song of Ice and Fire or Game of Thrones? Not bloody likely.

A Catelyn of Kings (14.2)

If there is one thing that John and SeannieWan have learned in their dealings with Lady Cat, it is that she is the 'Worst,' and despite her decision-making dormancy for the majority of A Clash of Kings, The Lady of Winterfell more than makes up for it with a doooooozythat not only drastically changes the fortunes and options for House Stark, Tully, Umber, Mallister, Bracken, Blackwood, Karstark, Vance, Piper, Manderly, Glover, and every other loyal House in The North and The Riverlands, but also leads The Wardens of Long Island to conclude that Catelyn Stark hadn't so much learned her lesson from the ramifications of her poor decision-making as she was waiting and gearing herself up for the Mother of All Bad Decisions.

A Catelyn of Thrones (14.1)

If there was a House Dumb-Idiot of StupieLand, the matriarch would be Catelyn Stark (or Tully, as it were) and the sigil for House Dumb-Idiot would be a crude depiction of the synapses in Catelyn's brain lighting up as she takes advantage of a situation to further her personal agenda of escaping from the North and stumbling into her own circle of power in the South.

#TPTWP Episode 13.2- Show Notes…

To back up a bit to before he becomes the Lord of Riverrun- Hoster Tully married Lady Minisa Whent of Harrenhal while his father ruled The Riverlands, before The War of the Ninepenny Kings. Together, Hoster and his wife Minisa had three children, though there were three more that did not survive past infancy. The timing isn't very clear as to if Catelyn was born before the death of her two brothers, though it seems unlikely she was. It is clear that Lady Minisa bore Hoster two sons that did not survive and therefore Hoster came to regard Catelyn as his heir. Another daughter followed Catelyn- Lysa, and finally a son- Edmure. Lady Minisa bore another son after Edmure, but Minisa did not survive that childbirth and the son died along with her. As reflected upon by Catelyn in her POV, Hoster Tully truly loved his wife and was deeply scarred and saddened by her death, missing her and just as sad decades later.
